Grolsch Premium Pilsner is popular with connoisseurs because, even though it is a mass-market pilsner, it is unpasteurized and is lagered for ten weeks, which gives it more credibility and taste than its competitors. A triple cold filtered, brewed by only the two row European Spring Barley, Hallertau hops, proprietary yeast and treated well water.
The famous Grolsch brewery was founded way back in 1615 in the eastern part of Netherlands in a town called Groenio. Heineken acquired Grolsch in 2008. Did you know Grolsch is brewed with a top-secret yeast strain that has allegedly been carefully protected for centuries.
The English Pub Reykjavík offers Grolsch on bottle 0,5L.
Tasting notes: “On the nose, soft and frafrant notes of grassy hops. Gentle carbonation on the palate, good body, light graininess, and hints of herbal and spicy hop leading through to a bitter finish”. – Quote from the book 1001 beers you must try before you die
